Eco Tours

Captain Wendy is a US Coast Guard licensed captain and wetland educator who offers Educational Eco-Tours on a daily basis by reservation only.  She will educate you about the beauty and the plight of the Louisiana wetlands.  This is the only tour of this type in Coastal Louisiana and well worth the drive down Highway 315 to the Falgout Canal Marina.

Along the way you will see alligators in their natural habitat in the warmer months.  You will see a wide variety of wading birds, as well as migratory birds when in season.  There is also wildlife like deer, raccoon, nutria, and otter that occasionally make an appearance.

You will learn about and see examples of several major causes of wetland loss and learn about the solutions that have worked and those that are yet to be implemented.  The Captain has written and talked about this topic extensively, and in so doing brings a level of expertise to her tours that set this tour apart as a one-of-a-kind educational eco tour.
