Meet Godfrey!
There I was, one cool November morning, swimming along chasing a frog for breakfast, minding my own business when SWOOSH!

A recent phone call from my fishing buddy, Lyle Johnson, resulted in plans for filming a little fishing trip for the recently reinstated outdoors show “Ascension Outdoors”, co-hosted by Lyle and his brother-in-law, Goosie Guice. I’m not sure why they call him Goosie, but it might have something to do with the fact that he was a championship duck caller at one time. Heck, he might still be for all I know.
Not sure how things are in your neck of the woods when it comes to Halloween, but it is a BIG holiday down the bayou. Some folks go all out and stuff clothing to look like real people and place them on their front porches. One family stuffed male clothing, added a milk-jug head, and propped the poor fellow on top of a riding lawn mower in the front yard. Porches are covered in spider webs. Yards are full of grave markers–some with names and messages.
Let’s pick two contest winners!
Friday morning floated in on a hazy fog while most folks in Bayou Dularge were sawing logs and dreaming sweet dreams. Not so for the likes of 19, two-man teams of redfish anglers who tossed and turned in anticipation of finding that perfect duo of redfish that would put them in the running during this past weekend’s HT Redfish Cup 2012 pre-qualifying tournament.
We all have been waiting patiently to see how this contest would fall out, and I can tell you it’s been something akin to herding cats.
