It was a long time coming, but Mrs. Coach’s family and another guest family finally arrived Wednesday evening after a couple days of traveling down from Oklahoma. I felt like I was not meeting a new friend, but seeing an old friend again for the first time in a long time. Does that make sense?
First off, I’m going to make my excuses. I was stuck in the anchored boat, facing the sun, so these pics do not do justice to the beauty of this place on this particular morning. They boys started fishing around 7 a.m. and started catching trout right away on this bait . . .
It’s a well known fact that the speckled trout migrate to the salty waters of the Gulf of Mexico to spawn, and that they begin to do so when water temps heat up in the late spring.
The World Wide Web has blasted open the doors and windows of opportunity for finding those out-of-the-way people and places. The variety of folks who have managed to find this little bayou down in coastal Louisiana amazes me weekly. Such was the case several months ago when a resident of North Carolina contacted me through this Bayou Woman blog.
