Does anyone remember the “Share a Christmas Story Contest“?

Five of you shared stories of Christmas Past – Blufloyd, Granny Sue, Mrs. Coach, Steffi, and Vance.

These names went into a hat and out came a winner:

Congratulations!  Now all you have to do, Mrs. Coach, is pick almost any photo from this blog or email me about something you might like to see.  I will email you several samples, you pick one, and then I will have it printed at your nearest Walgreen’s or other store that has online photo service.

  • Bayou Frog Symphony for You!

    For the past three nights, bayou frogs of all kinds have serenaded us to sleep. It’s important that you know they do not do this every night all spring and summer long. It’s only on occasion, but when they decide to put on a concert, they really belt it out. I don’t know if it’s just the time of year or if they’re just uber-happy because of all the rain we’ve had. Whatever the reason, the frogs have been singing their little hearts out every night.

  • Berry Good Memories

    After posting up the recipe for Blackberry Dumplings, I went back to the berry patch to pick more wild berries. Returning to the same patch, I was determined to pick only the blackest, plumpest, ripest berries. At the first picking, I had been so excited to find ripe berries, that I picked berries a little prematurely. However, since that first picking, we’ve had hard rains, coupled with days of sunshine in between, and now the berries have had time to fully ripen. While picking this morning I learned that if my shadow falls across the berries, they appear darker than they really are. So I made a conscious effort not to block the sun and to pick all of them in the glaring sunlight.

  6. Congratulations, Mrs. Coach! be sure to let us know which print you choose! I think that alone would prove to be a gigantic task — BW has so many wonderful ones, how in the world to reduce to just one?! 🙂
