Chapter 11 – The House
April 1981. That was it. It was done. Small, cozy home wedding followed by honeymoon in Hawaii. Time to finish up my first semester in Elementary Education with some good grades and take the summer off to plan, dream, and think about what the future holds. That was the summer I fell in love with…
Another true tale of bayou life!
Lest anyone think that all I ever do is relax in my boat, let me add that in order to maintain my captain’s license, I must spend required amounts of time on the water running my boat. There are days when it would be much easier to just stay home and not get my boat…
Chapter 3 – The Man
Preface: Because my children don’t know all the details of my fist marriage, I hesitated to write about it. Since it is relevant to my life, I picked my way through it as tactfully as possible. And in case any of you were wondering, the names of the guilty have been changed to keep them…
Out with the old–in with the new!
Or Happy New Year to all of you near and far! I spent the last day of the year fishing. Yep. Fishing and fishing with two other women and not a whole lot of catching. After four hours, we went home with about six speckled trout, which is better than being “skunked”. And now I’d…

Eagle
Well, we know it ain’t a gator nest. (tee hee)
It is an eagle or hawks nest. Something new I’ve learned – out west where there are no trees (desert), the ravens build their nests on the top of utility poles. Their nest look surprisingly like a large hawk’s nest.
I need an email from you!!!
HeatherHere wants to know if it’s a contest.
I knew someone would wonder if this was a contest!! No, it’s not a precursor to a contest!
Its a Harpy nest.
What Greek myth are you from?
That there is an eagles nest atop of a cypress tree. Is there any current residents, perhaps knitting any tiny eagle booties? emmm…do eagle chicks wear booties? questions have to be asked…..lol
Deb
Yep, there the little woman was, sitting on her nest, knitting a tiny eagle bootie, while the daddy was out hunting!
Is that anything like socks on a rooster?
