Where will Ike strike? When will BW go home?
Go west, young man, go west! Forecasters were right when they predicted Gustav to make landfall over my bayou. I want to believe this model is accurate when it indicates Louisiana is nowhere in the cone of whatever it’s called. Do I trust it and rush home today? Or do I remain patient, and take…
I'm still alive!
I’m sorry I don’t have any photos to post right now, but I am on a friend’s computer just trying to touch base with all of you. When I get an internet connection at Camp Dularge (they are saying October 15th) I will be posting like a madwoman. I have lots of stories and photos…
Evacuation preparations and you . . .
Hurricane Gustav is still in the Caribbean—over 800 miles from here. However, the hurricane gurus are predicting landfall just to the west of us, which puts us on the high-water side. Now is the time that I can no longer turn my face and hope it will all go away. This is a force to…
Hurricake Ike – Our Home Part 2
Ideally, when cutting out paneling or sheetrock/drywall, you would go up the wall a few feet and make it look presentable by wainscoting. However, we are not making long-lasting repairs to our home. How do you feel about public bathing?
Hey, Blondie, where’s all the grub? Hey, what are YOU looking at? Don’t just sit there staring at me! Go get my bathwater ready! Could you get me a snack while I check out the bathtub? Hmmmm, it looks clean enough. Let me ease on in here and check out the water temp. Ahhhhhh, that’s…

Eagle
Well, we know it ain’t a gator nest. (tee hee)
It is an eagle or hawks nest. Something new I’ve learned – out west where there are no trees (desert), the ravens build their nests on the top of utility poles. Their nest look surprisingly like a large hawk’s nest.
I need an email from you!!!
HeatherHere wants to know if it’s a contest.
I knew someone would wonder if this was a contest!! No, it’s not a precursor to a contest!
Its a Harpy nest.
What Greek myth are you from?
That there is an eagles nest atop of a cypress tree. Is there any current residents, perhaps knitting any tiny eagle booties? emmm…do eagle chicks wear booties? questions have to be asked…..lol
Deb
Yep, there the little woman was, sitting on her nest, knitting a tiny eagle bootie, while the daddy was out hunting!
Is that anything like socks on a rooster?
