The Cajun American T-shirt Drawing!

The time has come for the random drawing for a cool t-shirt from The Cajun American.

Using  Random.org, I put in the number of commenters we had on the previous post — The Atchafalaya Experience, which was 22 original people (did not count your multiple comments, only your first).

And the number generated is ……………………. 6

Now, if we go back to the comment section of previous article and count down six comments (not counting mine, of course), we get

Judy, on August 12, 2013 at 2:38 PM.

So, Judy, you are the winner of your choice of a t-shirt.  Please go to The Cajun American website, choose your t-shirt, size, and color and send me a private email with all the vital information, including your name and mailing address:  captainwendy@wetlandtours.com  and I will send your request along to them.   The package will be coming directly from them, but please let me know via email when you receive your prize, okay?

Thanks to the faithful readers who not only read, but comment, and we will be having another giveaway from a different Louisiana-based company soon!

I know that people really can’t “roll in the grave”, which is what, if it were humanly possible, my teetotaling Great Grandmother Adelaide would have been doing last night while I was bottling up and capping said spirits in the kitchen long after everyone else had begun to slumber. Maybe the fact that I waited to do this late at night, in quiet solitude means somewhere back in my ancestry, there might have been some moon shiners doing the same thing in the backwoods of northern Alabama. But wait, Great Grandmother was a teetotaler.

    Crawfish Bisque

It is “those” times again.  I don’t even know if that’s grammatically correct, but it’s Mardi Gras time AND the start of crawfish season.  We purchased our first sack and Termite boiled them up for us with lots of extras, like onion, garlic pods, mushrooms, smoked sausage, and potatoes. While we were eating crawfish, and…

Dear Readers: Below is a blog post from the founder of For the Bayou, a non-profit organization based in California. Elizabeth is native of south Louisiana, and has deep roots here. 1. Congrats to Judy! I hadn’t gone over to the Cajun American website, but I just did, and I’m laughing myself silly over the “Cajun Rain Gauge” tee shirt. I’m seriously thinking about that one!

Hope your weekend’s going well – you may be in line for the rain from that downgraded mess in the Gulf. We’re all trying to pull it over here by sheer will-power. We’ll see!

  2. Congratulations to Judy! Wear the t-shirt in good health! Bah humbug. I’ll buy one for myself.

  3. Contratulations to Miss Judy. I’m sure she will find a T shirt she likes. That’s a nice selection.

I’m rather drawn to the ‘Fueled by Hot Sauce’ shirt. Love my peppahs an sawse!

  4. Congrats, Judy. This is another good reason besides BW’s great writing to keep a person coming back!

    1. Judy either isn’t an “email notification follower” or she’s been busy living life this weekend!!! I might just have to email her if she doesn’t claim her prize soon. Either that or draw again!

  5. Thanks everyone for the Congrats and Thanks to Bw for the drawing. I really enjoy this blog. I have been canning salsa all weekend. I need to be doing more fig perserves but got to use up the tomatoes first.

    Again Thanks Bayou Woman

    1. You are most welcome. Please let me know when you receive your t-shirt, which only comes in black since it’s a Saints shirt!! I haven’t canned salsa in a while myself; but then again, I haven’t had a great supply of fresh tomatoes, either. So, good for you!!! Hey, do you know anything about pruning fig trees?

  6. Congrats Judy! I haven’t canned salsa in 3 or 4 years. The family all started trying to eat a bit healthier and salsa and chips were too tempting to have around.

    1. Hubby eats his (chunky) Salsa with Tiny Twist pretzels. Not the same, but not bad. It’s a little healthier than the chips.

  7. Congratulations to Judy! I’m behind on reading your adventures because the summer got crazy, but now I think I can return to my old haunts 🙂 Hope all is well with you.
