A move, a meter, and a Christmas past — 9 Comments

  1. Our Gas Co. came out last month and changed out the meters in our whole neighborhood. They insisted on relighting the hot water heaters in everyone’s home. I think it was a liability thing.
How long will it take to raise Camp Dularge?

  2. Steffi – they say it will take one week, but with Christmas happening on a Thursday, I doubt they’ll work the day after . . . . and then maybe not that whole weekend . . . . I have the sewage treatment guy coming on the 30th, so I hope they’ll be finished by then.

  3. Well, I’m glad you were able to get those, those gas people! I don’t know why utility companies can not keep it together. The same thing happened to my daughter once, and it also happened to a friend. Both were movin’ and put in orders for new residence and shut off for old, to be shut off a week later. My daughter wanted time to clean place she was movin’ out of. And guess what happened? When they shut off utilities at old home they shut off utiliies at new home too. Crazy. But I’m glad you were able to get your towels dry. Hope everything else goes smoothely.

  4. LOL! That is too funny–aggravating as can be at the time, but funny! I’d love to have seen that guy’s face while he worked and you “informed” him.

Thanks for the morning laugh. I’m glad you were able to get it straightened out–it wouldn’t have been funny if you hadn’t.

  5. Hey, I’ve been away awhile and came by to catch up. I laughed when I read this and had to comment because this could only happen to you! 🙂 I’m glad you got it back so quickly. Never a dull moment!
