Lots of warm fuzzies, everyone!
When you settle down in your night cap tonight (or settle down WITH a night cap), and check all your favorite web sites, I would sure like to know what YOU did today and what you plan to do tomorrow.
Graine a Voler – American Lotus
Skim across the surface of the warm, fecund waters of the shallow marshes of South Louisiana in midsummer and behold the gift of a floating field of the largest flowering plant in the state. The wind whips the giant leaves, some as broad as two feet across, making them appear to take wing. Their pale…

Casting New Swamp Peeps!
It all began at Big Al’s Seafood in Houma, Louisiana. It was a muggy hot Saturday afternoon, and with not a whole lot better to do, I decided to drive into town and check out the local casting call for the popular reality TV series Swamp People.

Red Fish Trio from Lafayette!
Three fantastic gals from Lafayette participated in the most recent fishing Bayou Woman Adventure (BWA). Having read fantastic reports by a premiere guide of red fish blasts the previous week, and in anticipation of their arrival, I had asked him if he might share his secret spot with me for this occasion. He generously did so in great detail, and because I had not had time to scout, I was very grateful.

Yep, I coulda guesses that! I haven’t used this one yet, so tell me, does the cornbread come out looking like fish?
That is a cast-iron cornbread pan, to make fishy cornbread! So kitschy! And so southern! I love it!
Isn’t it just the cutest thing? My friend from Mississippi came down last week and gave it to me as a “camp warming” gift!
BW your readers are just too smart to pull one over on!
By the way, thanks for letting me stay at Camp Dularge this weekend. I enjoyed the visit and the fun! You’ll soon be booked up with fisher men and women! What fun!
P.S. You might want to post a pic of that huge ‘gator we saw on our adventures for everyone to see.
You are very welcome! It was great having you! I thought the pics would go along with the “joint” sister post we’re supposed to write???
BW, the fish do come out shaped like a fish. Don’t expect to see all the details though. Just make sure to “season” that cast iron GOOD, even if it’s already pre-seasoned. When you fill the fish be careful not to over fill them. It’s much easier to remove the baked fish.
I love cast iron pans… anyone seen a pumpkin one?
