What in the heck is a French press?
Does it print French books? Is it a special way to iron clothes? Is it a bench press with a French twist? I’m not ashamed to admit that prior to Blufloyd commenting about someone using a “French press”, I had never heard of one. Now, tell the truth, have you? Thanks to Scott of Community…
The fruits of my labor
Remember a few weekends ago I played roving reporter down at three coastal communities southeast of my home bayou? Well, you can read the fruits of my labor in the Travel section of the Baton Rouge Advocate. I wrote the article sitting at the kitchen bar in a gorgeous camp while I was down there…

HELP! The internet is STILL sick!
UPDATE: I don’t know how long this connection will last, but the problem lies in the main cable, not within my house or modem. So, I’m waiting impatiently for Charter to take care of the major problem. I’m hoping the ability to get online is an indication that things are fixed. I apologize for not…
Graine a Voler – American Lotus
Skim across the surface of the warm, fecund waters of the shallow marshes of South Louisiana in midsummer and behold the gift of a floating field of the largest flowering plant in the state. The wind whips the giant leaves, some as broad as two feet across, making them appear to take wing. Their pale…

Wow! Is this a rat snake?
Yes, that would be correct! I think it was thinking about eating some kitten.

Deb in Tx, with one shakey cup of coffee…shhhezzzzzzzz
Yea, I’m with you, Deb. I hate to kill a non-poisonous snake, but this one startled him and the big yellow dog, and yes he did use his Christmas present on it. Watch out for those copperheads, though.
Hope Termite used his Christmas present on “God’s one mistake”.
Yes, he surely did!
Yikes. I try to maintain an agreement with the snakes around our place: you stay outside of our property lines, and I won’t kill you. Unless you’re a copperhead, and then all bets are off.
Yeah, I just remembered, I can’t come down the bayou… ever… again. *shudder* Where WAS that?! And it’s a king snake, right?
Oh… missed the first comment. Rat snake. I can see it now. I’m going to have to adopt ALL those little kitties!
Please, please please come get the kitties. Better yet, I’ll drop them off with a bag of food, and Muzicman will just think they belong to the big white house next door, where they ALWAYS have cats, right? Hey, that sounds like a good plan!
It’s the water moccasins from the pond across the road that I REALLY hate to find in my yard! Big, black ugly vipers.
You go, Termite!!!!
Cuz, we don’t tolerate water moccasins here AT ALL!
