As promised last week, I have another poll for you. I am doing my homework for this Saturday’s radio show discussion about Louisiana reality TV shows. Once again, I need your help and input. Hey, it’s summer. It’s hot. And if you’re just sitting inside keeping cool at your desktop or I-pad, do me a BIG favor and check out a little reality TV, Louisiana style. If you have a Facebook page, please share this poll with your friends, as I would appreciate as much input as possible–especially from folks outside of Louisiana.

  • Bayou Woman’s Adventure with Vibrio Vulnificus

You’ve probably been wondering for the past week where I’ve been, haven’t you? I know, you’ve been thinking, “Hm, I bet the awesome fishing trip with those retired Assorted Nuts wore her out!” And those Assorted Nuts have been thinking, “Poor BW. She just can’t hang!” Well, you’re all wrong, because the trip was fantastic and invigorating and left me with memories that will go way beyond the Assorted Nuts and the fish they caught.

  • First Deer Hunt

This past Saturday, our radio show topic was one I suggested–“women hunters”. Even though I’m not a hunter, I enjoyed moderating the show and sharing about the women hunters I’ve met this fall and what great gals they are.

One of those women hunters is an all-around outdoor woman who inspires me to the moon and back. She is Rene` Lofton Hatten, and I met her and Sammy this summer at our outdoor writer’s conference. She couldn’t believe the Bayou Woman wasn’t a hunter and invited me to the deer camp this fall, but you know how people say things to be polite and never follow through.

  1. Blu is one lucky fellar! You’ve heard that old saying no doubt, “lucky at ground coffee, lucky at love”!!!

  2. Sure feed alcohol to the drunks and sugar to the diabetics.
Sure send it up I’ll swap you something interesting if my project gets moving soon.

And thanks to all the little people that make my life better.

    1. Okay, smarty! I don’t think there’s any sugar in this coffee. I forgot something . . . you have a choice: whole bean, auto drip, cold drip, electric percolator, espresso, turkish grind. So which do you want?

    2. Hiya! I’m going to purchase the coffee here in Houma. If you would rather a different type than King Cake, my feelings won’t be hurt. I’d rather send you something you might like. So, please visit PJ’s website and let me know. I’ll be going later this week to get your pick and send it off.

  3. Goodness. I’ve missed a bit. I haven’t been online much, as I went to the library about a week and a half ago. When I’ve got unread books in the house, pretty much everything else gets shoved aside.

Congratulations, Blu! Well done. Sit back and enjoy that coffee.

    1. Blu, I think it taste like burnt liver and onions (didn’t you mention you don’t care for that). So, BW, I guess you’d better sent it to me.

  4. LOL….. This is funny, were I live hunting season is mostly fall into the winter, rabbits, birds, squirrels, deer, etc etc…. Season is really about over, unless I am mistaken on everything is nearly over. Spring most definitely is not a hunting season because the wittle animals are out refilling the hunting stock.

Today, the end of February, I get my new LLBean “Hunting Catalog”, would you say 6 months late or 5 months early?
