Sweet Potato Pie
Regardless, this recipe is a Houma Indian recipe taught to me by one of my sister-in-laws; well, actually the only one who bakes them. This is about the only kind of pie I’ve ever seen my native American kinfolk bake or eat. Is that strange?
Moonset . . .
There’s only one thing I like better than looking out at the bayou first thing each morning . . . looking out at the moon setting over the bayou. Once again, I really need a tripod. I took this with no flash, holding the shutter open as long as I dared, while backed up against…
Off the Hook!
Spring is full speed ahead on the bayou with summer quickly approaching. With so many other obligations, both paying and non-paying, it seems that my blog posts have been few and far between. Sometimes I put too much pressure on myself to come up with something witty and entertaining, when maybe you are content just to read about what’s going on in everyday bayou life. Welcome back to the bayou, Harmony. We are very glad to have you. The cast of players seems to be growing by the day! I hope you enjoy browsing through the old posts. By the way, this is our second coon. The older coon posts are from last summer’s baby coon. Have fun!

Thank ya, ma’am! And do you feel like telling these fine folks how you like the “marsh honey” you won?
