Gross me out Thursday!
Well, folks, I’m just not sure how to start this blog post. It’s rather strange. Maybe I’ll start by asking if you’ve ever seen the show “Monsters Inside Me” or something like that. Well, have you? We have a black and white feral kitten here we call Felix. Last weekend, while LilSis was here, Felix’s…
I'm a thankful wimp. Evacuation continues.
TUES. Sept 2 The lake house to which we evacuated was plenty large enough for 12 people–all related–running from Hurricane Gustav. But it’s amazing how small that house became after 12 hours with no electricity and nothing but rain for 24 hours. With temperatures rising and still no power, the natives were growing restless. With…
First Alligator Friday!
Once in a while I have the great opportunity of fishing with my friend, Jackie. We take her boat, she lets me drive this beauty, and I get to play “Fishing Guide”! No matter what, we always have a blast–even if we don’t catch fish. We headed to Lake Decade to see if we might…
Migratory birds need our islands and our coast line and a CONTEST!!!
These beautiful birds left South America on a wing and a prayer. Their prayer was to reach the coast of Louisiana alive, where they would find food and water and rest for their weary wings. Flying over the Gulf of Mexico is a shortcut, and the Gulf breezes and jet streams hasten their journey if…

Great pictures!! I love the picture of Miah relaxing in the swing.
Fall, Fairs…fun times… kids all ages!
I’ve never seen a kid so completely relaxed on a moving ride as Miah! He has some serious coolness goin’ on
Tilt-a-Whirl! I love the tilt-a-whirl, and it looks like the boys did, too!
looks like they had a blast!
Hey, I’m sending your information to a friend who has moved to Louisiana. She homeschools and I think your tours, etc would fit well into her curriculum, Wendy.
Oh, that sounds great Sue!!! I’d be glad to help in any way I can! Thanks! ( Did you know I homeschooled all my kids?)
I did not know that. I’ll pass that tidbit on too. I hope she decides to make the trip to your place. How cool would that be, to have a Joe’s Run girl meet my blog friend Wendy!
Gee, no warning???
I am getting really old but looking at carnival rides or hearing music still makes me very dizzy and ill.
Still thinking of being a carney when I grow up though.
Cooking trout this week.
Trout yum. Termite looked around at the “Carnies” hawking their games and said, “Wow, this must be a really depressing lifestyle. 🙁 “
I too love the Swing photo. Did he pose for you or is that his “style” of relaxing on this ride?
It was so cute!! Every time he came around to me, he was in a different pose!! There were four altogether I believe! He’s a real camera ham!
Love fairs. Popcorn, cotton candy, sausage on a stick, etc. and lots of lbs.
It has been years since I went to one. Can’t take that walking any more.
Looks like Miah was in his element! Bet he had a blast.
Wow our fair is in August and in Oklahoma that means it’s 104 degrees and 210 humidity, lol. The state fair was last week and it was beautiful weather. Looks like the boys had a blast.
Cuuute! The last two years when I’ve gone with him, the Tilt-a-Whirl is the only one I ride! (Always been my favorite carnival ride… I remember riding it with YOU! At Hamel’s Park, maybe?) Anyway, Miah and I can get that thing spinning something fierce! Love it. 🙂
You should have posted the other swing poses! *lol*
Now, I’m off to find your house post to see if I can find the pictures of your kitchen counters. I’ve been meaning to ask you who did them because I want new ones. Email me!
