First Bayou Woman Adventure Short Film
To usher in Regular Time, I have a little surprise for you! It’s a short film of the first ever Bayou Woman Adventure we had back in June. Carolyn Scofield, field news reporter for WVUE FOX 8 News in New Orleans came along with us, shot some footage, and put together this show. Kudos to her and all the ladies who went crabbing two ways and earned their right to call themselves Bayou Women.
Grand Isle Beach Sweep!
Bayou Woman has a job. Yes, you heard me correctly. I have a job. Not just any job. I get to work with cool people and do cool things in my job. Please try not to be too jealous when you see photos like this . . . . . . in connection with my…

It was just a trashy day!
Today was the second annual Bayou Dularge Trash Bash. I don’t have time to make a detailed post, because I have to get ready for a dinner party. If you want a preview of the day, you’ll just have to visit dularge.com and take a peek!
Hurricane Ike-Bayou Dularge, LA-The Animals
Humans aren’t the only victims during and after hurricanes. Often, animals are left behind for various reasons–hotels and shelters don’t allow them; some are too big, like cattle, horses, and goats; and some are wild, like the kittens at my house. Day 2: Our first trip down the road. and water was still flowing across…
Hurricane Ike: Day 7 on Bayou Dularge, LA
Today was the day the working people were able to come down the bayou and take care of business and help others take care of their business, too. There were 10 of us taking care of my business today. To Dan, Iad, Mark, Mike, Rach, HH, Ash, Marilyn, Warren, and Termite, I say THANK YOU…
Great pictures!! I love the picture of Miah relaxing in the swing.
Fall, Fairs…fun times… kids all ages!
I’ve never seen a kid so completely relaxed on a moving ride as Miah! He has some serious coolness goin’ on
Tilt-a-Whirl! I love the tilt-a-whirl, and it looks like the boys did, too!
looks like they had a blast!
Hey, I’m sending your information to a friend who has moved to Louisiana. She homeschools and I think your tours, etc would fit well into her curriculum, Wendy.
Oh, that sounds great Sue!!! I’d be glad to help in any way I can! Thanks! ( Did you know I homeschooled all my kids?)
I did not know that. I’ll pass that tidbit on too. I hope she decides to make the trip to your place. How cool would that be, to have a Joe’s Run girl meet my blog friend Wendy!
Gee, no warning???
I am getting really old but looking at carnival rides or hearing music still makes me very dizzy and ill.
Still thinking of being a carney when I grow up though.
Cooking trout this week.
Trout yum. Termite looked around at the “Carnies” hawking their games and said, “Wow, this must be a really depressing lifestyle. 🙁 “
I too love the Swing photo. Did he pose for you or is that his “style” of relaxing on this ride?
It was so cute!! Every time he came around to me, he was in a different pose!! There were four altogether I believe! He’s a real camera ham!
Love fairs. Popcorn, cotton candy, sausage on a stick, etc. and lots of lbs.
It has been years since I went to one. Can’t take that walking any more.
Looks like Miah was in his element! Bet he had a blast.
Wow our fair is in August and in Oklahoma that means it’s 104 degrees and 210 humidity, lol. The state fair was last week and it was beautiful weather. Looks like the boys had a blast.
Cuuute! The last two years when I’ve gone with him, the Tilt-a-Whirl is the only one I ride! (Always been my favorite carnival ride… I remember riding it with YOU! At Hamel’s Park, maybe?) Anyway, Miah and I can get that thing spinning something fierce! Love it. 🙂
You should have posted the other swing poses! *lol*
Now, I’m off to find your house post to see if I can find the pictures of your kitchen counters. I’ve been meaning to ask you who did them because I want new ones. Email me!
